This kind of debate? THIS is what’s missing in 2024. Americans disagreeing with each other, but still sitting down to a conversation. I left out “civil” because O’Reilly gets some digs in there, but Stewart is a master at taking things in stride, cracking jokes when he’s under pressure, and driving back to a serious point afterward.

I think this is a strong example of strong hosting vs weak hosting. O'Reilly is trying incredibly hard to bait Stewart to break his character and even slight him with playground rudeness. Stewart is very clever and obviously does his research, keeps on top of his subject matter and is able to stay balance. It is an immense talent that is hard to replicate. O'Reilly is an untalented shill.

Also, I would love to see John re-watch this interview from where he says no one person could break us, and even laughs about Trump running. Before Trump, he was probably right to some degree. But as we've since learned, our institutions were far more vulnerable than we hoped. And they still aren't done punching them. A Trump insider says they plan to fight the election results regardless if they win or lose. He's made SCOTUS into a terror. He's damaged faith of the justice system, the electoral system, and elevated Congress to a bunch of sichophants who only tell the truth when they leave. Like Ryan and Pence who at last being honest.

I love how conservatives will hurl the importance of vetting, ignoring that by their own standards Christ would be an unacceptable person to invite to the WH.

John had it so right: Fox is sprinkling conservative talk radio throughout their programs to make it more mainstream. And that's been their game all along.

7:40 exactly what republicans do... only see things as all or nothing, good or bad. With no discission of variables and how those variables will affect the outcome. It's like their brains are incapable of letting go of ideology and taking a deep dive into unknown territory in order to figure out the truth and form concepts based on reality, rather than loyalty to their party.
